Working closely with Cree land users and other beneficiaries, Niskamoon Corporation develops projects that alleviate the impacts of hydroelectric development in Eeyou Istchee. Committed to supporting Cree communities and traditional ways of life, Niskamoon fosters partnerships that bridge past and future, ensuring the preservation of culture, land, and self-sufficiency.

For the past decade, we’ve collaborated with Niskamoon on a range of identity projects, including their annual reports. The 2023–24 Annual Report was inspired by the natural rhythm of Cree life, structured around the six seasons recognized by the Woodland Cree: sīkwan (spring), nīpin (summer), takwakin (fall), mikiskow (freeze-up), pipon (winter), and mithoskamin (break-up).

The book unfolds through six seasonal sections, each defined by a distinct colour palette—from the warm oranges of fall to the bright yellows of summer.

Photography takes center stage, capturing the beauty and resilience of the land throughout the year. Soft textures, subtle blurs, and gentle noise add depth and warmth, evoking the close connection between the Cree people and their environment. The annual report embodies Niskamoon Corporation’s mission, highlighting sustainability, resilience, and cultural continuity across Eeyou Istchee.
