Playful environmental graphics packed with a distinctly Montreal attitude bring global hospitality brand Moxy to life.

Colorful, striped elevator interior with French and English text inviting people to take a selfie and share it on social media using #MOXYMTL and #ATTHEMOXY.
An open elevator with wooden floors and colorful horizontal stripes covering the interior walls, seen on the RC (ground) floor of a modern building.

We teamed up with Moxy Montréal Centre-Ville to transform blank walls throughout the hotel into design-forward experiences bursting with personality to blend the franchise’s global identity with a distinctly local feel.

Forget boring elevators. Motion-inspired line work flows up the walls, nodding to Montreal’s iconic metro system, while playful messaging invites guests to interact. A cohesive colour palette extends across each floor’s landing base graphics, creating movement, rhythm, and a strong sense of place with every ride. Mirrored surfaces add kinetic depth, and playful typography encourages guests to engage and snap a selfie.

A mural depicting a subway train with passengers, including a man with a backpack and a woman looking out the window, is on a wall. Nearby, a black rotary phone is mounted on tiled wall with directional signs above it.

Step out of the elevator, and you’re immediately in the underground city. Our landing base graphics feature custom illustrated murals inspired by Montreal's iconic retro-style metro. We carefully designed the graphics to incorporate wayfinding elements and change on each of the 9 floors— encouraging guests to explore and find easter eggs within. Unexpected details, Montreal-specific inside-jokes, and touches humour add to the fun so that no two landings feel the same.

A modern gym with large windows, exercise bikes, a TV showing news, and a wall with bold black words like

Moving up a few floors through the hotel, our 67-foot bilingual typographic design stretches across the rooftop gym wall, with cheeky motivation in true Moxy fashion. Big, bold, and bursting with attitude, the mural was designed to keep guests moving and feeling positive. Dynamic type and colour complete this motivational wall.

A black wall with bold white text reads: “Work on yourself like Montreal works on its roads. Never-ending but worth it.” The same phrase appears in French on the right. The word “Moxy” is at the bottom of both.

What’s more Montreal than a never-ending construction zone? Our custom chalk wall in the gym adds a touch of humour and local charm featuring hand-drawn illustrations and type that poke fun at the city’s perpetual orange cone situation. It’s a moment of levity that keeps the space totally Moxy while providing more Instagram-worthy backdrops.

A stationary bike faces a wall with a motivational mural that reads,
A modern hallway with two doors; a blue stick figure symbol on the left wall and a pink stick figure symbol with a dress on the right wall, indicating men's and women's restrooms.

Even the bathrooms get the Moxy treatment: playful, oversized wayfinding icons guide guests from sweat session to steam without missing a beat.

To finish the space, we created a frosted glass decal with the Moxy logo to add privacy without sacrificing style. It’s a small, stylish detail made to elevates the guest experience.

In every corner of the hotel, we've considered a way for guests to engage with our designs. It's no surprose that they have sparked press features, social buzz, and shareable guest moments, transforming this Moxy hotel into a playful destination that leaves a distinctly Montreal impression.
