Another year, another incredible season campaign launch at the Segal!

Earlier this week our team was invited to celebrate the launch of the Segal Centre of Performing Arts’ 2018-2019 season. The lobby was buzzing with the arts community, proud supporters, and some familiar faces!

The Segal Centre is always filled with lovely, creativity, and passionate creatives. We are grateful to these amazing clients and friends for allowing our team to help them achieve their artistic goals for the third year in a row.

As always, the launch was a total class act (pun intended if you know about their Class Act program). But seriously, we were exceptionally proud to show off our designs and see the community reactions to our work first-hand.

Don’t miss these incredible productions in the upcoming year.

Last night, our team hit up the Segal Centre for Performing Arts to celebrate 10 years of Segal Centre, and 30 years of theatre in one incredible place. The lobby was filled to the brim with proud supporters, theatre goers, the arts community, and famous faces! For the second consecutive year, Design Is Yummy had the privilege of collaborating with the Segal Centre for Performing Arts on their season graphics. With the 2017-2018 theatre season marking its 10 year anniversary, we excitedly took on the 6 upcoming production graphics, program book and celebratory marketing materials. Our goal was simple: make this year’s campaign special, engaging all the while topping our successful award-winning work from last year. (Sounds simple enough, right?)

Starting the lineup this year is Hockey Sweater: The Musical, based on the timeless short-story Le Chandail de Hockey by Quebec author Roch Carrier (who made an appearance at last night’s launch party!) . The show is produced in collaboration with Alive375, for the celebration of the city of Montreal’s 375th anniversary.

Returning to the Segal Centre this campaign season is Bad Jews, the highly praised original play. The exciting theatre season also includes the 2015 Pulitzer Prize finalist Marjorie Prime, the acclaimed Shaw Festival Production “Master Harold”…and The Boys, Golda’s Balcony– the longest one-woman show in Broadway history starring Emmy-award winner Tovah Feldshuh, and the beautiful story of musical legends Edith Piaf and Marlene Dietrich The Angel and The Sparrow. Check ’em out!

We had such a blast at last night’s season launch party. Celebrating with the theatre community, our incredible clients, friends & family, great food & drinks, and showing off the art we’ve been working so hard on over the past few months was incredible. We’re so proud! (Can you tell?)

Family and friends came out to support Design Is Yummy and the Segal Centre / Our young model poses again for The Hockey Sweater. (Caleb, you’re a true star!)

Last week our team enjoyed a wonderful opening night of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change at the Segal Centre. This popular off-Broadway musical is filled with catchy tunes and lighthearted comedy exploring all kinds of romance – from ridiculous first dates to marriage, and parenthood to the senior years. Love is messy and we had a blast laughing with it. The show runs at the Segal Centre in Montreal, Quebec until May 29th, so don’t miss out! Click here to get your tickets!

Design Is Yummy is proud to announce our recent collaboration with the Segal Centre for Performing Arts on their 2016-2017 campaign.

Last Wednesday night we were out in full force at their packed season launch party announcing their upcoming productions.

We were excited to see our custom type treatments and illustrations projected on the big screen to such a warm reception? Look out for the new graphics that will grace the centre’s brochures, program books, posters, building signs and advertising throughout the city in the coming months.

We can’t wait to check out all the shows- with such a passionate, hard working and talented group, they’re no doubt going to be incredible! Congrats to our clients on such a successful evening! On Monday night our team took a trip back in time at the Segal Centre’s presentation of BOOM – a show that explores the defining moments of the baby-boom generation. Written, directed and performed by Rick Miller, this incredible one-man show guides audiences through 25 years of history. Miller portrays over a hundred of the generations’ most influential cultural, musical, and political icons. Combining a documentary style performance, storytelling, and interactive visuals, BOOM was an amazing experience! Even though we aren’t boomers ourselves, we were still able to relate to the context of the show, and reflect upon our own experiences, as well as our parents’ and grandparents’ stories of that era. The show runs at the Segal Centre in Montreal, Quebec until April 10th and if you move quickly, there are still a couple of tickets left.
