This Tel Aviv kindergarten and daycare complex takes inspiration from a grocery store that used to occupy the site. The theme of fruits and vegetables takes precedence throughout the space, with vivid colours and unique furniture designs. The space was designed to spark imagination while kids play and learn.
We absolutely love this clever idea that brings food, play and design together – something we take pride in at our studio!
Did you know 6 out of 10 McDonald’s restaurant managers in the U.S. are women? In honour of all the women that have helped make a difference to the franchise, McDonald’s has temporarily flipped their golden arches. So clever!
Happy International Women’s Day all!

If there’s one thing we love as much as design, it’s food. Food is a multi-sensory experience that has the incredible ability to bring people together. All these elements combined (taste, touch, consuming, interaction, etc.) lead us to wonder where the future of food culture will lead us, and to question our current relationship with food. Will we interact the same way with food in 20 years as we do now?In its second year, the Bitten Food Conference in New York City is dedicated to openly discuss the future of food culture – what it is, what it means, and what it can be. Different from other food conferences, Bitten reveals itself as a creative, technological, trends conference. This year, 20 panelists will share their knowledge on the topic in hopes to inspire and engage audiences to see food culture in a new light. Co-founders Naz Riahi and Emily Schildt explain, “Food affects everyone. It’s the common thread which is why we’re seeing so many other spaces, from music to art to fashion, tap into food as a means of building an engaging their communities.” The goal of the conference is to “highlight how exciting, innovative and creative the food space is […]”. Bitten makes the conversation on food open and accessible to those outside of the food industry, while encouraging those presently in the industry to share their thoughts on the topic. Yum!

We celebrated this holiday season in style!

Around 6 months ago, our Founder Elana discovered a deep, dark secret about her fellow employees – none of them had ever eaten at Montreal’s famous Gibbys restaurant. Baffled, she immediately decided (6 months in advance) that we would absolutely, without any hesitation, have our holiday dinner at Gibbys.

Flash forward to a few nights ago when the Design Is Yummy team hit up Gibby’s in Old Montreal to enjoy one hella classy night filled with steak, kebabs and endless Monte Carlo potatoes. 2015 was a big year for our studio and a solid celebration was well overdue! We’re entering 2016 full and excited to see what surprises the year will hold.

Happy Holidays from our family to yours. Cheers!
