The Pixel Painter from The Pixel Painter on Vimeo. 98-year-old Hal Lasko, better known as Grandpa, spent his career as a commercial graphic designer in a time when everything was done by hand. As Hal’s eyesight began to go, he thought his painting days were over. When Lasko’s grandchildren bought him a computer and introduced him to Microsoft Paint fifteen years ago, a new world of creative expression opened up to him. Ever since, Hal has been creating beautifully detailed pixel art. Now, Grandpa spends ten hours a day in his studio creating intricate digital paintings.
