The Cree School Board is an independent First Nation school board that offers pre-school, elementary and secondary education while developing programs in French, English and Cree. Our team had the pleasure of designing their 2016-2017 Annual Reports that incorporate colourful graphics, illustrations and photographs from programs throughout the last year. The blind embossed logo detail on the front and back cover add a subtle sophistication and modernity to the design. The end result is a visually engaging report. Last summer we had the pleasure of working with Prométour Educational Tours to create informational travel “Passports” for their students. Prométour organizes and designs customized tours for students with destinations all around the globe. It was only fitting for this booklet to resemble an actual Canadian passport!
They loved the concept of the award-winning wedding passport invitations we had designed (spotted in our studio during our initial meeting) so much that they had to have passports of their very own!
Inside the pages are interesting facts about Québec, and fun puzzles for the touring students to complete.
Of course we designed custom illustrations as passport stamps detailing some of their other top trip destinations.
Stay tuned to see what else we have in store with Prométour coming later this year…

Another year, another incredible season campaign launch at the Segal!

Earlier this week our team was invited to celebrate the launch of the Segal Centre of Performing Arts’ 2018-2019 season. The lobby was buzzing with the arts community, proud supporters, and some familiar faces!

The Segal Centre is always filled with lovely, creativity, and passionate creatives. We are grateful to these amazing clients and friends for allowing our team to help them achieve their artistic goals for the third year in a row.

As always, the launch was a total class act (pun intended if you know about their Class Act program). But seriously, we were exceptionally proud to show off our designs and see the community reactions to our work first-hand.

Don’t miss these incredible productions in the upcoming year.

Once again, Niskamoon Corporation chose our team to design of their 2015-2016 Annual Report. The 8.5” x 10.5” report showcases another year of success for the corporation, honouring their dedication to preserve Cree traditions and featuring a local photographer’s work with breathtaking captures of Cree landscape and culture. For the printing, a raised spot UV finish of the company’s logomark feather is featured on the cover page. We also bound the pages using hidden spiral binding. This makes the book stong and still keeps a spine with a perfect bound look. Shorter pages separate every chapter of the report in bold colours with topographic lines representing their connection to their land.

The fully hidden spiral binding combines the advantages and sturdiness of wire-o-binding and the sleekness of perfect binding – a very professional and long-lasting look. Finally, these were accompanied by a matching 4” x 8” trifold brochure.

The month of March has really brought us so many new project opportunities. We’re happy to show off another first – LEARNING ON THE JOB a fully illustrated and designed book by your friendly group of designers. The book showcases different life careers and the inspiring lessons we can learn from them. Every job has its own personalize illustration mixing simple and intricate designs in a sketch-like style vector art. The combination of visual representations and text helps create an aesthetically pleasing book which intensifies the reader’s reaction and inspires the ideas the client is trying to get across. The final artwork features black, turquoise, and marigold tones; colours that make the pages bright, energetic rich, and fun to look at. Take a peek at some of the pages created for this wonderful project:
