It’s that time of year and I’ve got vacation on the brain …. [images via] Just over five years ago, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island opened the very first underwater restaurant. To celebrate their anniversary, the restaurant offered guests the opportunity to not only dine under the sea, but sleep under it too. The 12-seat restaurant lies 16 feet below sea level of the Indian Ocean and is surrounded by a coral reef. The above-water resort is pretty spectacular too. The Maldives hotel boasts 50 luxurious water villas, 79 exotic beach villas, 21 spa water villas and outdoor garden-bathrooms (with  glass doors as walls and strategic landscaping to ensure total privacy).

Last week I attended a webinar hosted by Paper Specs and presented by Suzie McKig from California-based Twig & Fig. I was completely blown away by the creativity and materials Twig & Fig uses. They use out-of-the-box mediums and techniques in their work to effectively represent clients and their events. Hold your breath…here are some samples: Twig & Fig hired a scientist to help develop the invitation above for Malgrave Incident/Nintendo. It uses custom-formulated invisible ink printed with a letterpress so that when you spray the solution the event details are revealed. I have no idea how you would mail this bad boy, but the coolness factor of it tells me that I don’t care! Twig & Fig won Brides ...
