POST SHOW WRAP UP: THE DIG AT LE PETIT CAMPUS image

[The Dig playing Le Petit Campus, Nov 4.] I checked out The Dig along with The Receivers and The Joy Formidable last night at Le Petit Campus. Although I liked The Receivers music which was reminiscent of The Cranberries, I was off-put by the singer’s pitchy voice. The Joy Formidable had a couple of catchy tunes and they had great energy. I was also impressed by The Dig‘s honest sound…..and their merch gets this designer’s approval.

THE DIG IS UP…AND COMING image

Electric Toys, the 12-song debut album of indie band The Dig, was officially released on June 6th. The Dig has already toured with other talented groups like The Walkmen, White Rabbits, Here We Go Magic, Editors, The Antlers, Portugal. The Man and most recently The Henry Clay People. They’re back on the road- this time with The Joy Formidable. Thanks to Marni Wandner from Sneak Attack Media in NYC, this blogger has officially turned first-time music journalist. I spoke to The Dig’s keyboard/guitar player Erick Eiser on the phone yesterday just as the band was finishing a shopping detour at Walmart to gear up for the fall/winter tour weather. – – – – – – – – – – – ...
